Sian Knell, says, ‘I have worked in Abbey Medical Practice in Reception/Admin for just under 2 years and within this time I have come to find that there is a gap in this market for us to help our local community and our patients. After having a discussion with our Practice Manager, Mark, we have come to the conclusion that the best way for us to help our local community is to partner with some local businesses/trusts/charities and through our local councillor Martin Christopher we referred The Centre for Reconciliation to try and reach out as much as we can and to give back in a festive period that some can find incredibly difficult to support the Lincoln Hygiene Bank.’
We are really pleased to be working with The Centre for Reconciliation to be able to support our local community. This partnership has allowed us to help our patients beyond just providing them with healthcare, but also anyone who is not our patient in the local area. I plan for us to work with The Centre for Reconciliation and other organisations in the future to help out local community further. Mark Henalla, Abbey Medical Practice Manager
"The Abbey Medical Practice 'Christmas Wish Tree' scheme, is a lovely idea and in the true spirit of Christmas. The Centre for Reconciliation has a fantastic reputation for connecting with and supporting hard-to-reach groups in our community, so I am delighted to learn they are now supporting Sian who is running the scheme for the practice. This might be the only gift some people get this festive season, so I am absolutely thrilled to learn of this collaboration." Martin Christoper, Councillor for Abbey Ward
TCfR is delighted to partner with the Abbey Medical Practice during this festive season to support more people with hygiene support. We have just recently opened a hygiene session in the Central Methodist Church and another session soon launching in St Giles the demand is increasing and is very high. It is great that the Abbey Medical Practice is thinking about those struggling during this Christmas period and I am extremely delighted and impressed by Sian and all she does to raise these much-needed donations for Lincoln Hygiene Bank and also they are raising donations for other charities too. I was amazed to see at the practice the display and the interest from the practice and patients already. There is real engagement with the community which is much needed. Subash Chellaiah, Executive Director
The donations will be dropped before 6th December so if anyone would like to get involved, please get in touch or pop in to the Abbey Medical Practice.
